The obverse depicts Liberty wear the Phrygian cap, with the word “liberty” featured on the band. Meanwhile the reverse features a bald eagle clutching arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other.
Morgan Dollars were minted from 1878-1904 and then again in 1921. The 1904 represents the last production of this denomination at the New Orleans Mint.
The 1889-CC Morgan Dollar is not only the rarest of the Carson City minted coins but also a key date for the entire series. A low mintage makes it a difficult coin to find.
